Community Transport 1800 035 262

Community Transport is a transport service for people living in the Northern Sydney region with limited access to public or private transport options, including:

  • frail aged
  • people with disability, and
  • carers of these people.

Types of Community Transport Services

Community Transport services are provided by cars, minibuses and vans for purposes such as:

  • medical appointments
  • shopping
  • social outings.

Passengers are transported door-to-door by drivers trained to provide a supportive service. Many of the vehicles used are wheelchair accessible.

How to access Community Transport

Contact your local Community Transport provider to arrange an over-the-phone assessment to see whether you are eligible to receive their services.

Then once registered, each time transport is required, a booking must be made with your local Community Transport provider.

Cost of Community Transport Services

Community Transport providers are not-for-profit organisations that are supported by funding from the Australian Government Department of Health and Transport for NSW.

Community Transport providers charge passengers a small fare. However clients are not denied a service if they are unable to pay.

Carers can accompany a frail older person or person with disability at no extra cost.
