Community Connect Transport (formerly Lower North Shore Community Transport) provides transport services to people who have difficulty catching public transport. It is for residents of the North Sydney, Mosman, Willoughby and Lane Cove local government areas, including people who are:

  • frail aged 
  • people with a disability
  • carers of these people.

Community Transport services are provided by cars and mini-buses for purposes including:

  • shopping
  • social outings
  • personal appointments
  • medical appointments

Northern Sydney Community Transport Passenger Handbook

The Handbook includes information about your rights and responsibilities as a Community Transport client, as well as what to do if you have a complaint or suggestion. Our service welcomes all feedback from clients, including complaints.

Aboriginal People

If you are an Aboriginal person who has a disability, is over 50 years of age or is a carer of an Aboriginal person who is over 50 years or who has a disability, contact the Aboriginal Access and Assessment Team for information about transport and other services.

There are a number of other community organisations that provide social support with a transport component in their local area using volunteers:

Public Transport and Travel Training

In the Lower North Shore area the public transport services available are buses, trains, ferries and taxis. Some of these services are accessible for people with limited mobility or those using wheelchairs. Contact the individual transport provider for more information.
